Welcome to the ISUILS Home Page
ISUILS is a new and interdisciplinary, discussion-oriented symposium on the emerging research field, "Ultrafast Intense Laser Science".

For aiming to stimulate lively discussion among participants, the symposium is held under the informal atmosphere. All the oral presentations are given by invited speakers representing their respective research field. However, eager participation for the interdisciplinary and complementary discussion is highly encouraged.

Because of this reason, acting as both a chairperson and a moderator, the discussion leader of each session is expected to make an every effort to encourage discussion and exchange of ideas. To this purpose, we adopt a unique format. Firstly, the discussion leader surveys a topic of the session for around 15 minutes. After the presentations by two or three invited speakers, we arrange a general and free discussion time for around 40-50 minutes.

Message from Co-chairs of ISUILS9

This year we will hold our symposium at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, on the lovely Hawaiian island of Maui, US, during Dec. 9th - 13th, 2010. This year we are honored to have Prof. Paul Corkum, Prof. Hiroki Nakamura, and Dr. Didier Normand as Honorary Co-chairs of the meeting. On the first day, we will have a welcome reception in the hotel, and during the four days of the symposium starting on Dec. 10th, we will enjoy seven invited sessions and two poster sessions, in which topics at the forefront of ultrafast intense laser science are to be discussed. On behalf of the international organizing committee, we thank all the invited participants having made the program so attractive.

In addition to the scientific sessions, we will also have presentations by the sponsor companies at two sponsors' sessions.

We look forward to welcoming you at Maui, Hawaii.

Sincerely yours

Co-chairs of ISUILS9,
Mauro Nisoli
Wendell Hill
Kaoru Yamanouchi
